GC reshuffles at the Tour de Pologne

Karpacz welcomed again the Tour de Pologne at the end of a day that featured five classified climbs, including the one at the finish, averaging 2.3% over 5.1 kilometers but featuring a double-digit part just before the finish.
A breakaway animated the day and made the peloton work really hard in order to erase their advantage, despite not going north of two minutes. From that group, one rider attacked and remained at the front until the last kilometers of the race, when the bunch overhauled him as soon as the gradients stiffened. The victor emerged only in the closing 200 meters, when Paul Lapeira (Decathlon-AG2R) punched clear to move into the yellow jersey.
The first T-Rex Quick-Step rider home was neo-pro Andrea Raccagni – who is competing in his first stage race since the month of May – followed just a couple of seconds later by British ITT Champion Ethan Hayter, the 2022 winner of the Tour de Pologne.
