Biography
A spectacular rider who likes bringing the race to life by launching some impressive long-range attacks, Pepijn made his pro debut in January last year and it didn’t take him too long to show that he is capable of repeating on the World Tour the convincing display that he produced in the U23 ranks. Knowing that no guts usually means no glory, Pepijn quickly became a breakaway specialist, ready to defy the odds and go for glory even when the chances looked to be slim. This attitude netted him two KOM jerseys – in Luxembourg and Guangxi – but more importantly, showed that he has what it takes to make a name for himself in the World Tour.
“It feels pretty special to be on the team I’ve been dreaming of riding for my entire life. I came here after a nice spell with the Devo Team, where I progressed a lot, and I immediately found my place and continued my development. The fact that while doing this and helping the squad I was able to get some good personal results at the highest level shows that I can hope for more this season, when I want to make the most of every opportunity I will get or create.”
