Biography
Hailing from the small town of Neslusa, Martin turned pro in the summer of 2022 recommended by his many excellent results in the junior ranks and has since gradually developed under the guidance of the Soudal Quick-Step staff. The 2025 season began promisingly, with Svrcek playing a key role in securing the team’s first European victory of the year at the Etoile de Bessèges, before lining up in a series of one-day races.
However, his spring campaign was abruptly halted by a heavy crash on the descent of the Cipressa during Milano–Sanremo, resulting in multiple fractures – including his right collarbone, scapula, and several ribs. After months of rehabilitation, he made a successful return to racing in June, capped off by a brilliant performance at the Slovak National Championships, where he claimed two medals.
That result, and the team’s confidence, make him confident ahead of his fifth season in the World Tour: “I am very happy to continue together with this amazing squad, to whom I am incredibly grateful for their unwavering support and trust in me even in the moments when things didn’t go as we all wanted and hoped, due to injuries I had to face. I feel great here, it’s the perfect squad for me to grow, discover new races and explore what I am capable of, that’s why the new contract I got last summer motivates me even more for a season where I am ready to leave everything out there every single time.”
