Our team is ready to take on the 79th edition, scheduled on Tuesday.

One of the season’s most important and entertaining kermesses, Gullegem will be Soudal Quick-Step’s penultimate appointment of what has been a successful month of May. Having won the previous four editions with as many different riders, our squad will look to play again an important role at the 179km race.

Last year, Warre Vangheluwe produced a fantastic performance by going in the breakaway early and dropping his companions on his way to a spectacular solo victory, which saw him hold off the peloton in the closing meters of the race. The Belgian neo-pro will once again be at the start, this time with a pro victory under his belt – stage 4 of the Quatre Jours de Dunkerque. He will be joined by Ayco Bastiaens, Yves Lampaert – a two-time winner of the event – Martin Svrcek and Jordi Warlop.

“We have five motivated and strong riders for Gullegem, two of whom know what it means to win this beautiful race. It will be pure racing from start to finish, full gas from kilometer zero, so we are looking forward to this appointment”, said Soudal Quick-Step sports director Dries Devenyns.
