Biography
Just 22 years of age at the start of his first pro season, Warre racked up two wins last year, one more spectacular than the other. After holding off a charging peloton at the Quatre Jours de Dunkerque and taking the spoils from the what initially looked to be a doomed breakaway by the slimmest of margins, the Belgian then made a splash at his final outing of the season – the Tour of Guangxi – where a combination of raw power and excellent positioning helped him prevail against much faster men for the first World Tour win of his promising career.
“Turning pro with Soudal Quick-Step after a spell with the Devo Team was incredible. Since I’ve been watching cycling, I can only remember seeing all these fantastic moments of this top team, and now, to have been able to contribute to the victory tally and experience what it feels like to win for this team, was an unbelievable feeling that it’s difficult to put into words. What I can say is that I am proud of what I have achieved and I hope to continue on this road and maybe get the opportunity to see what I can do in the Classics.”
