Soudal Quick-Step to Izegem Koers

| Wednesday 10 September 2025 - 11:54

A mix of World Tour and Devo Team riders will be at the start this Thursday.

Izegem Koers, one of the many Belgian one-day races on which our squad has left its mark this century, is back this week with another edition, one consisting of 19 laps of a 9.3km circuit. Almost 180 kilometers in length, the race should once again be a fast one, and given its nature, it’s difficult to see it end up in a bunch sprint, a scenario we haven’t had there since 2018.

For this 55th edition, three of our World Tour riders – Ayco Bastiaens, Warre Vangheluwe and Jordi Warlop – will be joined by six members of the Soudal Quick-Step Devo Team: Renato Favero, the Italian who just a few weeks ago took a beautiful solo victory in Omloop Mandel, Jelle Harteel, Senne Hulsmans – a winner of three races this season – Joeri Schaper, Matijs Van Strijthem, and Lars Vanden Heede.

“Izegem Koers is one of the most beautiful kermesse races on the calendar. We will start there with a strong team, built for this type of racing, where there’s a lot of action from the beginning and riders attack left and right as soon as the race is underway. Of course, we are aiming for a good result, and we have the riders capable of being there in the finale, so we look forward to what we hope will be a solid and spectacular day of racing”, said sports director Kevin Hulsmans.
