The Italian company helps our team rest and recover at the Spanish Grand Tour.
Sleep has become one of the most important factors in recovery and performance for professional riders, especially during a demanding three-week race like La Vuelta. For years, our team has brought its own mattresses and pillows to races — including the Grand Tours — to make sure our riders always have the best conditions to perform at their peak.
This wouldn’t be possible without the invaluable help of Manifattura Falomo, whose main mission is to promote the culture of “Healthy Sleep” by producing mattresses, pillows and bed accessories, all 100% made in Italy.
“For me, it’s important to know that the riders are getting consistently good sleep during stage races. That’s where Falomo steps in. By using their mattresses every night, it enables us to ensure a consistent level of personalised comfort and hygiene. Doing a Grand Tour means traveling a lot and changing hotels almost every night, and as you can’t always be sure of the quality of the mattresses the riders will have there, we try to keep as much of the hotel environments as consistent as possible for them.”
“Relying on the Falomo Body Trainer mattresses means we can ensure a comfortable night’s sleep, which in turn will support better performance. When we have riders with specific preferences around the firmness of their mattress, Falomo supports us by providing mattresses according to the personal preferences of those riders. This attention to detail is important when we are trying to optimise our athletes’ recovery and sleep quality”, explained Doctor Charlotte Edelsten, the team’s Performance Sleep Specialist.
