Soudal Quick-Step to Gullegem Koerse

| Monday 02 June 2025 - 11:39

The 81st edition is scheduled this Tuesday.

Our team’s first race of the month will be on home soil at Gullegem Koerse, an event where the Wolfpack have triumphed ten times, the most recent of these victories having come last year, when Martin Svrcek became the first Slovak to take the win, after a strong solo attack in the last kilometers.

The two-time U23 World Championships medalist will make his first appearance since the crash in which he was involved at Milano-Sanremo more than two months ago, when a number of injuries put him on the sidelines for several weeks. Svrcek will be joined at the start of the race which will see the peloton cover a flat and fast 10.4km circuit a total of 17 times by Gil Gelders, Yves Lampaert – a winner here in 2017 and 2019 – Pieter Serry, Jordi Warlop, and 21-year-old Belgian Jelle Harteel, who comes from the Soudal Quick-Step Devo Team.

“It’s going to be a very fast and nervous race, that’s for sure. A lot of things can happen in Gullegem Koerse, as we have seen at the previous editions. We go there with a strong team, comprising many riders who can be involved in the big moves. We’ll see what we can achieve, but what we know is that we are motivated to do a solid race”, said Soudal Quick-Step sports director Tom Steels.
