Tim Merlier headlines our roster for the 78th edition, taking place this Tuesday.

Sticking to tradition, we will conclude the month of May at Gullegem Koerse, one of the season’s most important and entertaining kermesses. Having won the previous three editions with as many different riders, our squad will look to play again an important role at the 179km race which comes with a completely new circuit this year.

Belgian Champion Tim Merlier – a winner of six races so far this year – will lead the line for the team, which will also include Jannik Steimle, Bert Van Lerberghe, Stan Van Tricht, and three riders of the Soudal Quick-Step Devo Team: Andrea Raccagni, Warre Vangheluwe, and Jordi Warlop, who was a close runner-up at the Muscat Classic earlier this season.

“Our leader will be Tim, who’ll again have Bert by his side. Stan and Jannik will get the help of Warre, Andrea and Jordi, from the Devo Team. Riding a kermesse from time to time it’s nice, it gives you a different perspective and you gain important experience. I’d go as far as saying that Gullegem is the most beautiful kermesse in West Flanders. Every year it’s fast and hard, and this week it won’t be any different. We should have good weather, which means the winner could come after a bunch sprint, and we hope to be there”, said Soudal Quick-Step sports director Iljo Keisse.
