Gil Gelders and Pepijn Reinderink will stay with the squad for an extra two years.

Soudal Quick-Step is happy to announce that two more riders have signed contract extensions: Gil Gelders and Pepijn Reinderink, both of whom turned pro at the beginning of 2024 after a solid stint with our Devo team.

Gelders has raced a number of prestigious races since making the step to the World Tour, including Liège–Bastogne–Liège, Il Lombardia, Itzulia Basque Country and the Tour de Suisse, where he has shown his quality in the service of the team. On top of that, the 22-year-old Belgian won the best young rider jersey at last season’s Okolo Slovenska, his most important result to date in the pro world.

“I’m very happy that I have signed this contract extension. I have two goals for the future: to become a better rider with each year that passes and to help the team get as many wins as possible, because that’s something that is in our DNA. Of course, if there will be a chance at some point, I would also like to go for a victory.”

Pepijn Reinderink was equally impressive, especially towards the end of his first season with Soudal Quick-Step. The Dutchman, who is just 23, won the best climber’s jersey at both Tour de Luxembourg and Tour of Guangxi – the latter being the final World Tour race on the calendar – while this year he’s had a couple of strong outings in the Classics, but also in stage races.

“Signing a new contract with the Wolfpack is an important moment in my career. I have made some significant steps here in the last two years, but also before, as part of the Devo team. This is my team, the place where I feel great, and to see that the squad has so much confidence in me is very motivating ahead of the next two years.”

“As everybody knows, here at Soudal Quick-Step we believe in investing in young riders and helping them to develop, and that’s what we’ll continue to do with both Gil and Pepijn, who have shown what they are capable of many times. Aside from that, they can still improve, and that is something that makes us confident we will see some nice things from them in the years to come”, said Soudal Quick-Step CEO Jurgen Foré.
