Kasper Asgreen, Tim Declercq and Yves Lampaert are all on the squad for the first outing of October.

Our team put in a strong display only a few days ago at the Circuit Franco-Belge, and will now look to continue on the same note at another Belgian one-day race, the Famenne Ardenne Classic, which kicks off the month of October.

The course consists of a long 116km loop followed by three laps of a 24km circuit. Saying the latter will be challenging is an understatement, a total of four climbs – Waha, Côte de Roy, Marloie and Avenue Toison d’Or – and the lack of any flat terrain promising to shake things up and pour led into many riders’ legs long before the final kilometers of this fifth edition.

Soudal Quick-Step’s best-placed rider Thursday afternoon at the event formerly known as the Tour de l’Eurométropole, Florian Sénéchal is one of our cards for Sunday, when the peloton will take on the 188.1km race held around Marche-en-Famenne, in the province of Luxembourg. Joining him will be Kasper Asgreen, Okolo Slovenska overall winner Rémi Cavagna, Tim Declercq, Yves Lampaert, Casper Pedersen and Stan Van Tricht.

“Racing in the Ardennes is never easy. We are in for a tough race, with a tricky local lap, but we have a competitive team, comprising many riders who can try something at some point during the race, so we’ll just see how things go and do our best”, said sports director Tom Steels.
