Two-time winner of the race Yves Lampaert will be one of the team’s many cards.

Held almost without interruption since 1968, Izegem Koers is ready to welcome the riders at the start of the 47th edition, which will take place Thursday afternoon. A flat 9km circuit that the peloton is set to cover 18 times promises full gas action from the start, as many teams and riders will try to prevent the race from ending in a bunch gallop.

Tim Declercq, Fabio Jakobsen – the most successful sprinter of the season, with twelve wins to his name – Iljo Keisse, Yves Lampaert, who triumphed here in 2014 and 2019, French Champion Florian Sénéchal, Stijn Steels and Bert Van Lerberghe will make up Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl’s roster for the Belgian kermesse.

“We have many cards for this race: Fabio, Florian and Yves can all go for a good result. Of course, the most likely scenario is a bunch sprint, but we must wait and see how things go, because usually in these races things can easily change and a small group can go all the way to the line. Regardless of what will happen, we are ready to give our best”, said sports director Rik Van Slycke.
