Our rider was again in fine form on home soil.
Senne Hulsmans was unstoppable Wednesday afternoon, taking another dominant victory in Belgium, this time in Vrasene, at the end of a 124km race. Soudal Quick-Step Devo Team’s rider, victorious in Zolder and Wingene in the last two weeks, did another flawless race despite not having the best feelings and remained attentive the whole time before the mass gallop, where he showed again his impressive speed.
The 21-year-old started the sprint in the last 150 meters and put several bike lengths into Thibaut Verhofstadt and Pieter Van Laer, who rounded out the podium, for what was our squad’s eighth win of the year.
“I tried to be active early in the race, but I quickly felt that the legs weren’t great, so I decided to wait and see how things would unfold and just focus on the sprint. Luckily, we had one in the end, as everything came back together on the final lap. It was an incredibly fast finish due to the tailwind, but I made sure of waiting for the right moment to go and launched my effort with only 150 meters left. I’m so happy to take my third victory of the season”, Senne explained after the podium ceremony.
