Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team sent riders to the front of the peloton, such as Marco Bandiera and Michal Golas, to help pull back a five man breakaway and give Francesco Chicchi a chance to sprint for victory at the 185km Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey Stage 2, from Alanya to Kemer.

The team, including Matteo Trentin, Nikolas Maes and Iljo Keisse, also did tremendous work protecting Chicchi, and, when the break was caught in the final 5km, trying to bring him to the front. Frantisek Rabon and Andy Fenn were spotted bringing him forward.

Unfortunately, the catch of the break was late and the sprint finish was a bit disorganized at the front. Andre Greipel (Lotto-Belisol) won the field sprint, with Matthew Goss (GreenEDGE) taking 2nd and Matteo Pelucchi (Team Europcar) taking 3rd.

Chicchi sits 5th in general classification standings, just 12" back.
