The reigning Belgian Champion added two more years to his contract with the World Tour team classification leader.

A key member of the Wolfpack since 2015, when he stepped up to the World Tour with Quick-Step Floors, Yves Lampaert has signed a two-year extension to his contract with the most successful squad of 2018, a decision the 27-year-old native of Izegem took lightly after his best season since turning pro.

Now in his fourth year with the team, Yves continued to work hard, develop and show that he's one of the pillars of Quick-Step Floors, while at the same time seizing the opportunity every time he had the chance. Not only that his contribution could be seen and felt in a wide range of races, from Classics to Grand Tours, Yves also confirmed his prowess for one-day races, by becoming in March the only rider in history to win Dwars door Vlaanderen on consecutive years and later by taking a maiden victory at the Belgian Road Race Championships.

"I am very happy that the team and I made the decision to extend my contract, because I feel that I'm a big part of this family which we call the Wolfpack. I am really motivated to keep growing and improving, which is easy to do with this squad. They have put a lot of trust in me over the years and I have been able to ride my own chances, which I am grateful for. I love how we always shape the race, racing aggressively, trying to make things hard for others and going for the win. It's great to be part of such an experience", said Yves, who also laid out his expectations for next season.

"I will again focus on the Classics and hopefully I'll get to step up and show some great things. I will also maintain a focus on Grand Tours. I did my first Tour de France this year, which was an amazing experience, and it just made me hungry for more!"

Quick-Step Floors CEO Patrick Lefevere showed his delight at having retained the services of Yves Lampaert, who he is confident can still improve: "He's just 27 years of age, has built a nice palmares, and maybe more importantly, proved he's a real team player. I am sure Yves has many beautiful things to show us and knowing he will do this in our jersey over the next two years gives me a lot of joy."
