Biography of Stijn

Stijn Vandenberghe has been in cycling since childhood. His father has always been a mechanic of professional teams and introduced Stijn to the job at young age. During the school holidays, he was allowed to join and help is father in races like the Vuelta a Aragon and Vuelta al Pais Vasco, while still only 14 years old. He has worked as a mechanic since 2011, full-time since the following year, having been part of several World Tour and Pro Continental teams before becoming a member of Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl.

Stijn is one of the many inhabitants of the West Flanders province in the staff. He lives in Zonnebeke with his wife and two daughters. If he’s not tinkering with bikes, you might spot him at the wheel of a rally car, his preferred pastime.
