Biography

One of the new riders on the squad at the beginning of 2025, Valentin quickly settled in, winning the queen stage atop the steep Green Mountain and finishing second overall at the Tour of Oman, where he was also crowned the best young rider of the race. But his biggest moment of the year came in July, at the Grande Boucle. There, after a whole day in the breakaway, Valentin kept his cool in a furnace of pressure and heat, winning on the legendary and intimidating Mont Ventoux – a success built on determination, confidence, and the beautiful Wolfpack spirit, all key ingredients of a memorable and emotional day for Soudal Quick-Step and France, who had been waiting for a success on the “Giant of Provence” since 2002.

“The Wolfpack is a big, happy family. This is the feeling I already had from the outside, and which was confirmed to me after just a few weeks in the team. I would say that this is the most important thing of my first year with Soudal Quick-Step, that I quickly found my place, supported by an incredible staff and great teammates, from whom I got to learn a lot. Of course, my victory on the Ventoux remains the highlight of the year, because it’s a career-defining win, but I don’t want to be known just for that. I’m still young and my ambition is to continue to develop and get some more beautiful wins and important general classification results. This season there will be plenty of opportunities to do that and I hope to show the best version of myself in the races that I will do.”
