Biography
Having completed his studies in Electromechanics in 2020, Mauri joined our squad at the beginning of that summer with a high degree of confidence and ambition, and didn’t waste any time when it came to showing his quality in the time that has passed since.
Since then, Mauri has shown his talent, huge amount of work and never-say-die attitude in a number of races, including the Ardennes Classics – where he captured a pair of top-ten placings and the Giro d’Italia, by definition the most demanding Grand Tour of the season. To cap it off, the 25-year-old soloed to a superb stage victory from an elite peloton at the Tour de Luxembourg, thus becoming the squad’s ninth different rider to record a success last year.
“I continue to live my dream with this team and I’m excited every time I am on the road with the Wolfpack, who is my second family. Now that I enter in my fifth year as a pro, I have a lot of motivation to keep working and improving, to help the squad whenever and wherever possible, and at the same time, to get some good results for myself. I’m confident my chances will come, just like last season, because everyone on this squad gets opportunities at some point, which is one of the things that make Soudal Quick-Step such a great team.”
