Biography

Hailing from Levens, a small town in the county of Cumbria, James has built a reputation as a solid climber ever since his junior days, when he won the National Hill Climb Championships. Over the years, the Brit proved he’s cut for both hilly one-day and stage races, the results he earned in the U23 ranks speaking of his outstanding talent. Following his move to the World Tour at the beginning of the 2018 season, Girona-based Knox confirmed those early showings on the climbs in several top races during his first pro seasons, such as Il Giro and La Vuelta, at the latter coming close to cracking the top 10 overall.

Since then, he took an impressive seventh at the prestigious Tirreno-Adriatico, concluded eighth at one of the toughest Vuelta al Pais Vasco editions in recent memory, while also supporting the team and its goals every single time with the same unwavering commitment and determination.

“This will be my eighth year with the team and I love it here; I like the atmosphere, the way it’s all organised, and the feeling that you are part of a family. There are lots of favorite moments of my time with the squad and it would be hard to pick out one, but what I can tell you for sure is how honored I have been to be part of so many great victories and just how much motivation I have to help the team win more races and remain among the best in the world.”
