Race organizers confirmed on Saturday that Gent-Wevelgem will be held on Sunday, March 24th, despite snow and cold that left the possibility of the race being canceled. Instead, the course will be shortened by 45km and the start moved to Gistel to try and avoid the worst of the conditions.
Further changes to the course are still possible as snow is in the forecast. Climbs could possibly be removed, but they remain in the course as of the announcement on Saturday.
