Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team rider Andrew Fenn placed 6th in the flat, but wet and windy, 193km Sparkassen-Munsterland-Giro on Wednesday. The race was brought back together with 24km to go, and the peloton simply worked to maintain optimal position for the race finish the race was known for: Bunch sprint.

Marcel Kittel (Argos-Shimano) took the win, with Michael Van Staeyen (Topsport-Vlaanderen-Merc) was 2nd and Dylan Groenewegen (Team de Rijke-Shanks) was 3rd. However, the race had its share of drama. Kenny Van Hummel (Vacansoleil-DCM) was relegated from 2nd to 15th, as he and Andre Greipel (Lotto-Belisol) fought in the final for position.

OPQS rider Tony Martin fell in a big peloton crash near the finish. Niki Terpstra and Florian Senechal were caught behind the crash, but did not go down. The fall was not serious for Martin.

OPQS riders Gerald Ciolek, Martin and Terpstra attacked with several other riders earlier in the race, with the intention of ensuring the breakaway was caught and Fenn would have a chance for the race victory. Zdenek Stybar worked hard for Fenn with 1.3km to go, setting him up well for the sprint.
