Despite several breakaways throughout the 178.5km Stage 2 of Franco-Belge/Tour de Wallonie Picarde, the peloton kept a tight leash in hopes of bringing the second stage down to a bunch sprint.

The peloton succeeded, and Marcel Kittel (Argos-Shimano) beat Nacer Bouhanni (FDJ-BigMat) to the line, with Aidis Kruopis (Orica-GreenEDGE) taking 3rd.

Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team rider Andrew Fenn finished 9th, and Nikolas Maes was 13th.

Guillaume Van Keirsbulck remains in 3rd in the GC, 12" back, after the 2nd stage.

OPQS looks next to a 173.7km Stage 3 on Saturday.
