At the end of the 93rd, Milano-Torino — 193.5km in distance — the finish came down to some of the top climbers in the peloton. The final, according to Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team Sports Director Davide Bramati, was a double climb on the Colle di Superga, the symbolic hill in the city of Turin. 

The finish line was at the top of Colle di Superga, and the rider who eventually crossed as the line as the race winner was Alberto Contador (Saxo Bank - Tinkoff Bank)

OPQS rider Kevin De Weert did his best to play aggressor, making a chase group within the final 25km. However, all riders were brought back except two riders ahead: Przemysław Niemiec (Lampre-ISD) and Eros Capecchi (Liquigas-Cannondale). The duo had 28" on the peloton with 8km to go. 

Eventually, those two were overtaken, and Contador was victorious over Diego Ulissi (Lampre-ISD) and Fredrik Kessiakoff (Astana).
