The promising Mexican rider will join our feeder squad from next year after a solid final season in the junior category.
Said Cisneros will compete for the Soudal Quick-Step Devo Team in 2026, after two strong years spent in the colors of the A.R. Monex Pro Cycling Team, where he got to make his first real steps in cycling. One of the most talented Mexican riders out there, Said has competed mainly in Europe in the past two seasons, turning heads in a number of races, as well as impressing at the most recent edition of the World Championships.
In October, just before bringing his final year in the junior ranks to a conclusion, Said produced a remarkable display at the Mexican National Championships, taking silver in the individual time trial before winning the road race just one day later and signing off the most important result of his career so far.
A strong climber who carries an impressive punch at the end of a race, the 18-year-old is delighted to ride in the Soudal Quick-Step Devo Team jersey next season: “It makes me happy to join this strong squad for next year, which will be my first in the U23 category. In the first season with the team, I want to develop, learn as much as I can from the more experienced riders and put that into practice on the road, but also to take part in some of the biggest races on the calendar. Cycling in Mexico has become more and more popular in the last couple of years, and I am glad that I’ll represent my country in the peloton.”
We are very pleased to welcome Said to our development program.
“He made quite a strong impression at the junior level, especially when the road went uphill. He is a pure climber and very talented, something he has shown not only by winning the Mexican national road title, but also with dominant performances in several Italian races where he was clearly one of the strongest climbers in the field.”
“As he enters his first U23 year, we will work with him carefully and patiently. The goal is to support his growth step by step, send him to the right races, and allow him to adapt to the European calendar. We believe there is significant potential in his climbing abilities, and we’ll also give him opportunities to broaden his skills. With time, structure, and the right guidance, we are confident he can develop into a very strong rider”, explained Soudal Quick-Step Devo Team sports director Kevin Hulsmans.
