One of the longest-serving riders in the history of our squad, Pieter joined the Wolfpack as a 24-year-old ready to make the step up to the World Tour and stayed with us for a full 13 seasons, during which he played an important role in many of our most memorable victories.
But Pieter was more than just an incredible domestique and an integral part of Soudal Quick-Step, he was also a popular figure within the team due to his jovial demeanour and jokes that lifted the spirits of his teammates.
After 13 unforgettable years with the squad, more than 870 race days and around 137000 race kilometers, Pieter has decided to stop at Il Lombardia, but not before welcoming us on his farm, where he looked back on his time with Soudal Quick-Step and most emotional moments that defined his remarkable career.
