Ten riders will be in action at the 92nd edition of the kermesse.

It might be the World Championships week, but that doesn’t mean our team won’t be busy on home soil. On Tuesday, the Soudal Quick-Step boys will be at the start of Textielprijs Vichte, a spectacular kermesse which we’ve won a total of five times with as many different riders.

Ten laps of a 16.8km course will be on the menu of this edition, where our team will be represented by Gil Gelders and Jordi Warlop. Both will be at the start after a solid outing at Gooikse Pijl, where the former was in the breakaway until close to the finish, while the latter concluded in 12th place. Joining the two will be eight riders coming from our Devo Team: Mathijs De Clercq, Renato Favero, Jelle Harteel, Thomas Pesenti – a bronze medalist at the Italian National Championships a couple of months ago – Joeri Schapers, Gauthier Servranckx, Lars Vanden Heede, and Matijs Van Strijthem.

“Vichte is an old race with a lot of history. The course is a nice one, featuring a climb that could take its toll on the peloton, especially late into the race. We’re curious to see what our team can do there, especially with so many young riders. It will be a good opportunity for them to race against the pros, and we are confident we can put in a strong outing and fight for a nice result”, said Soudal Quick-Step sports director Tom Steels.
