A two-year contract for the Belgian, who in 2027 will make the jump to our World Tour squad.
Cériel Desal will join the Soudal Quick-Step Devo Team from next season, where he’ll bring his experience and guide the young riders of what is one of the most successful feeder teams in the sport, which has scored more than 50 victories over the past three seasons.
The 25-year-old from Roeselare is the cousin of former Wolfpack rider Guillaume Van Keirsbulck, and has competed at Pro Continental level since turning pro in 2022. He has caught the eye with solid performances, particularly in one-day races, earning an impressive runner-up spot at last year’s Grand Prix de Denain after spending the day in the breakaway, as well as top-five results at the Memorial Briek Schotte and Zwevezele Koers.
“Joining this team is a dream come true. I’ve looked up to this squad my entire life, especially since the moment I saw my cousin race in those iconic colours in some of the biggest races on the calendar. To wear them myself feels pretty surreal. I’m incredibly motivated to grow as a rider in one of the best teams in the world and give everything to help this squad win as many races as possible,” said a delighted Cériel.
“Cériel is a rider with potential, who has impressed us with his ambition and work ethic, and we are confident he’ll fit right in. Next year, he’ll be an important mentor for our Devo Team riders, who will have plenty to learn from him. We look forward to this and to him joining our World Tour squad from 2027,” added Soudal Quick-Step CEO Jurgen Foré.
