Runner-up spot for the American sprinter on the penultimate stage of the Czech Tour.
Luke Lamperti took his fourth podium of the season in Ostrava, a city which previously hosted multiple finishes at the Czech Tour and the Peace Race. The 22-year-old put in another strong sprint to come runner-up at the end of the third stage, behind Liam Walsh (CCACHE x BODYWRAP), who took the victory Saturday afternoon.
Soudal Quick-Step was the main team to control the gap of the breakaway, erasing a deficit of three minutes before bringing back the last of the attackers with four kilometers to go. Yves Lampaert was the one to launch Lamperti, who scored our third top-three finish in as many days here and returned in the points classification lead.
Yellow jersey Junior Lecerf concluded safely in the bunch and maintained the four-second buffer he has over the next rider in the GC ahead of Sunday’s demanding summit finish to Pustevny, a first-category climb where the winner of this 16th edition will be decided.
