We have an update following the Italian’s withdrawal from stage 7 of the Tour de France.
Mattia Cattaneo had been battling through the injuries sustained in his crash on stage 4, but unfortunately, the effects proved too severe to continue enduring the rigours of the Tour. As a result, he was forced to abandon the race.
The 34-year-old was taken to hospital for further checks, which fortunately confirmed that there were no serious injuries.
We’ll miss ‘Catta’ in the team and wish him a smooth and speedy recovery.
