Our feeder team is back on French roads this week.
The 34th edition of the Alpes Isère Tour gets underway in just a couple of days, and Soudal Quick-Step Devo Team will be among the 21 squads at the start of the French race, which this year puts on the table a course comprising almost 30 classified climbs.
The most demanding of these – featuring some stinging gradients – will be Mont du Faz, Col de Porte and Col du Parquetout, the last two of these coming on the fifth and last stage, when the riders are set to conclude in La Mure, which hosts the week’s only uphill finish.
Soudal Quick-Step Devo Team will tackle the Alpes Isère Tour for the second time, after the 2023 edition, with a strong six-man squad consisting of Henrique Bravo, Mathijs De Clercq, Hodei Muñoz, Thomas Pesenti, Gauthier Servranckx and Viktor Soenens – the best young rider of O Gran Camiño and a top ten finisher at the Circuit des Ardennes last month.
“It’s a demanding five-day race, with plenty of stages in the mountains. We’re going there with a strong and versatile team, which has a lot of motivation. The goal is to be in the mix in every stage and build momentum as we prepare for the GiroNextGen. It goes without saying we would like to get some good results, but we’ll take it one day at a time and see how things go”, said sports director Kevin Hulsmans.
