Episode 4 of this season takes you behind the scenes at the last two major one-day races of the spring.

Dazed, happy, emotional, triumphant – Remco Evenepoel was overwhelmed by a myriad of emotions the moment he crossed the finish line on the Quai des Ardennes, sealing the biggest victory of his career to date and giving Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl something huge to celebrate after enduring one of the toughest spring campaigns in the team’s history.

Bad luck – lots of it – translated into crashes, illness and injuries, all hampering our ambitions in a number of one-day races which the Wolfpack had dominated in the past. Not even Liège–Bastogne–Liège made an exception from this, a massive pile-up taking World Champion Julian Alaphilippe and Ilan Van Wilder out of contention and forcing the team to rethink its approach.

But as it always does, the Wolfpack remained united and focused on the prize, safely escorting Remco Evenepoel to the slopes of La Redoute, where the 22-year-old launched a searing acceleration, an unreal attack of a magnitude not seen in decades at “La Doyenne” which helped him open a gap on the peloton in blink of an eye, putting the Belgian on track for a career-defining victory.

All this, and many more – from the heartbreak and tension to the unbridled joy and pure happiness generated by winning the spring’s final Monument – were brilliantly captured in the latest episode of our Wolfpack Insider series.
