Omega Pharma - Quick-Step rider Dario Cataldo showed his form and strength on Saturday's 7km Tour de Suisse prologue in Lugano, finishing in the top 10 on Saturday among some of the strongest riders in the UCI WorldTour.

Cataldo placed 7th, with a finishing time of 10'01". He was 18 seconds back from race winner Peter Sagan (Liquigas-Cannondale), who won with a time of 9'43". Sagan bested time trial extraordinaire Fabian Cancellara (Radioshack-Nissan), who took 2nd with a time of 9'47". Moreno Moser (Liquigas-Cannondale)  finished 3rd, at 9'50".

Levi Leipheimer, last year's winner of Tour de Suisse, is still recovering from being hit from behind by a car while training on April 1. He suffered a fractured fibula. He finished with a time of 10'24". 

Peter Velits placed 19th, 25" back from Sagan.
