Deceuninck – Quick-Step’s Belgian is making his long-awaited Grand Tour debut this weekend.

Nine months after a crash at Il Lombardia spelled the end of his incredible 2020 campaign, Remco Evenepoel is back in action, ready to pin on a number at one of the best races in the world – the Giro d’Italia.

The road has been a long and arduous one for the 21-year-old Belgian, who had to stay off the bike for a lengthy period before being cleared to resume training and start building his condition. In all this time, he was motivated by one thing and one thing only: to be in Torino on May 8, for the start of the 104th edition of the Corsa Rosa.

Already a success, this journey was captured in this great video – that takes you through all the steps Remco has made since January – which we are happy to share today, as Il Giro gets underway.
