Some great guests will be coming to Tom Boonen's press conference on Thursday, March 15th, at 6:45 p.m. at the McLaren showroom in Milan.
MotoGP pilot Ben Spies, Formula 1 pilot Jarno Trulli, and cyclist Fabrizio Macchi, a bronze medalist in the recent world Paralympics, will be next to the Flemish champion who is on the hunt for his first "Classicissima" success. This assorted group of athletes all share a great passion for cycling and for Specialized bikes.
"It really is a nice surprise to be able to meet champions of this caliber," said Boonen. "As everyone knows, I'm a big motorsports fan and sometimes I've also attended a few races. It will be interesting to compare our experiences. Cycling is continually becoming a sport in which technology and the development of the mechanical means count a lot. I'm also curious to meet Fabrizio. I've always heard about his approach to the bicycle and everything he's doing to raise public awareness about an important subject like sports and disabilities — something that really means a lot to me. I'd like to thank the team, and Specialized, for this opportunity."
