Etixx - Quick-Step rider Michal Golas finished 74th in a peloton shattered into small groups on the Tour de San Luis Stage 2 summit finish on Mirador del Potrero (4.8km, 6.7%) on Tuesday.

The 185.3km stage included an original five-rider escape group, which went up the road with 127km to go in the race and had an advantage of almost nine minutes at one point. However, the breakaway was eventually down to just four that were caught before the first summit finale of the stage race.

Daniel Diaz (Funvic Brasilinvest-Sao Jose Dos Campos) and Rodolfo Andres Torres (Colombia) attacked on the final climb as the peloton already was splitting up, and those two rode together until the final kilometer with enough of an advantage to stay away. Diaz attacked Torres near that point and went on to win the stage solo. Torres was 2nd, and Ramos Kleber (Funvic Brasilinvest-Sao Jose dos Campos) was 3rd.

Etixx - Quick-Step looks next to a flatter, undulating 176.3km Stage 3 on Wednesday. The finish is uphill, but it is short and uncategorized.
