Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team rider Iljo Keisse was in the front for a long time during the 5th and final stage of the Ster ZLM Toer GP Jan Van Heeswijk. Together with Brian van Goethem he took a maximum lead of 5 minutes, but the peloton reeled the escapees in at less than 10 kilometer from the finish.
As expected there was a sprint in the streets of Boxtel. Due to a crash in the final 2 kilometer there was nothing left of the big peloton. Only 20 riders sprinted for the final stage win in this race. Andre Greipel (Lotto-Belisol) took the win by outsprinting Tyler Farrar (Garmin-Sharp).
Philippe Gilbert (BMC) took the overall win, he also won the opening stage and yesterday`s 4th stage. OPQS rider Gianni Meersman finished 3rd in the final overall classification.
