Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team rider Gianni Meersman finished 7th in the 7km, Ster ZLM Toer GP Jan van Heeswijk Prologue on Wednesday.
The Belgian rider finished 3" back from stage winner Philippe Gilbert (BMC Racing Team). Dylan Van Baarle (Garmin-Sharp) was 2nd, and Albert Timmer (Giant-Shimano) was 3rd.
The stage was stopped twice — first due to a fire on course, and then due to a crash of a rider into a supporter at the start.
OPQS looks next to 183.9km Stage 2 on Wednesday.
