On Tuesday, January 14th, 2014, OPQS Cycling Team will introduce itself to their sponsors and fans in a truly unique event to be held on the track named after Belgian Cycling Legend Eddy Merckx at the Vlaams Wielerecentrum in Gent (Belgium).

The event will start at 7:00 p.m. and will last well into the evening, during which athletes from team OPQS will challenge one another in some track specialties.

All the athletes on the team — except those participating in the Tour Down Under — will be attending this event, which promises to be brilliant and is not to be missed.

"Last year was a blast," says Tom Boonen. "In just one evening we experienced the atmosphere of an entire Six Days, surrounded by an awesome crowd! This year we will be there again to have some fun and to show our fans a good time."

Between one race and the next, guests will also be able to enjoy some entertaining shows which are sure to rouse the entire crowd.

OPQS 4 Fans!

OPQS has always been dedicated to their fan base, and they will give their supporters the chance to attend the event by reserving 700 seats in the grandstand just for them. Tickets are already available on the team's website: http://omegapharma-quickstep.com/ploegvoorstelling

The event will wrap up with an after party featuring live music performed by the well known Belgian Band "Cookies and Cream".

"After last year's great experience we decided to repeat our presentation on the track," CEO Patrick Lefevere says. "What better location to launch the 2014 season? It means a lot to us to host this event in order to thank our sponsors for their support and to give their guests and clients a unique access to the team. Thanks to this event we can also involve our fans, at least a good part of them. We believe that our fans and their enthusiasm are major contributors to our success. Unfortunately we won't be able to accommodate everyone who follows us from outside Belgium, but we hope we can make up for it by scoring some major victories again in 2014."
