Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team rider Mark Cavendish met with the press in the Tour of Britain pre-race Press Conference on Saturday. Also in attendance were Patrick Lefevere, CEO of OPQS, and Mick Bennett, the Tour of Britain race organizer. The British Champion is excited to start the race, consisting of eight stages, on Sunday.
"I'm so happy to ride here," Cavendish said. "I'm proud to be British and can't wait to wear the colors of national champion on the roads of Britain. We have a strong team here, with a lot of different options for all eight stages. The weather in the first two days of racing will be a factor for sure. I hope to do well against some really strong guys at this race, and I'm sure my teammates are as motivated as I am."
