Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team riders Nikolas Maes and Andrew Fenn finished 4th and 6th in the 156.3km Stage 1 of Tour de l'Ain on Saturday.
The stage came down to a predicted bunch sprint finale, after two riders in the breakaway were caught with 12km to go. Leonardo Duque (Colombia) won the stage, with Yannick Martinez (La Pomme Marseille) 2nd and Romain Veillu (Vacansoleil-DCM) 3rd.
Gianni Meersman remains the GC leader after winning the prologue on Friday. OPQS looks next to a 149.3km Stage 2 on Sunday.
