Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team rider Gianni Meersman finished 3rd in the predicted sprint finale of the 119.7km Stage 3 of Tour of Austria on Tuesday.
A lone breakaway rider was caught with 8km to go and teams set up clearly for the bunch sprint of a stage with just two categorized climbs earlier in the stage. The finale, however, was uphill. Thor Hushovd and Daniel Oss got the 1-2 finish for BMC Racing Team.
Dries Devenyns remains in 4th in the GC for OPQS, 1'10" down.
OPQS looks next to a 146km Stage on Wednesday.
