A project that had been long in the making finally took shape at the end of 2021, before becoming reality in the spring of last year, when AG Insurance teamed up with NXTG and soon after joined forces with the men’s team, reaffirming Patrick Lefevere’s commitment to the lay down a solid foundation that would ultimately contribute to the development of women’s cycling.
In the coming months, Soudal and Quick-Step came aboard, offering extra support to the squad, which is now known as AG Insurance – Soudal Quick-Step. Comprising sixteen riders from ten different countries, the team aims not just to be a protagonist in the events it will race – such as the Classics and the Tour de France – but also to create a sustainable project that will ultimately help the development of the young riders.
For that reason, the U19 and U23 teams – making up for a total of twenty riders – have also been incorporated into the program, with the purpose of giving an opportunity to young female riders to see their dreams come true and to make this in an environment where they will grow from base to the top.
