The Wolfpack will look to continue its excellent run this weekend.
Another top 10 for Warlop
Jordi Warlop carried the flag again for Soudal Quick-Step at the second and last Belgian one-day race of the weekend, the Grote Prijs Jean-Pierre Monseré, which consisted of several laps of a circuit featuring a couple of small cobbled climbs.
Prominent at the front from the beginning of the day, our team pushed a furious pace in the last 50 kilometers, a move that ended up splitting the field. The Wolfpack was well represented in the group, where multiple Czech ITT Champion Josef Cerny set a relentless tempo that caught the early breakaway.
Thanks especially to the huge effort of our riders, the attackers remained at the front until 20 kilometers to go, when the large peloton behind bridged across. The finale in Roeselare was a nervous one, as many squads wanted to be at the front in the bunch sprint, which concluded with the win of Gerben Thijssen (Intermarche-Circus-Wanty). After finishing fourth in Grand Prix Criquielion, Warlop took another solid result, coming over the line in sixth place for his fourth top 10 of the season.
