Our team will go fully motivated to Le Samyn, a race we’ve won on four occasions since 2009. The 209km-long course is stacked with rough cobblestone sectors and a dozen or so climbs, the last of these featuring inside the final kilometers, thus giving the attackers a big chance to dispatch their opponents and claim a solo victory in Dour.
Le Samyn Medical Update
Kasper Asgreen crashed in the final kilometer of Le Samyn. Following this incident, the Dane was left with a lot of skin abrasions, but nothing that will have a big impact on the coming weeks.
European Champion Fabio Jakobsen was another Soudal Quick-Step rider involved in a crash, with 50 kilometers to go. The Dutchman has a contusion of his scapula and ligaments in his shoulder, as well as multiple wounds over his body that required patching up, and will need a few days to recover.
